The rotational force generated by the motor is transmitted to the crankshaft and the crankshaft transmits the rotating actuator motion to another piece called the connecting rod. Depending on the type of application, some crankshafts have one crank and some have more. Crankshaft construction requires a great deal of engineering elegance.
